Reduce Wheel Hop and Deflection. When warming up your Mustang's tires in the staging lane of your favorite drag strip do you experience unnecessary wheel hop? Well, almost all S550 drivers do. This is because the 2015 to 2018 Mustangs feature an Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) that is well known for deflecting under rapid acceleration causing loss of traction and excessive wheel hop at the track and on the street. By installing a BMR Suspension IRS Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit you will virtually eliminate all troublesome cradle deflection and see an increased improvement in rear wheel traction for more impressive tire smoking burnouts with no wheel hop.
80%-90% Reduction In Deflection. The BMR IRS Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit uses lockout rings and locating washers to hold the IRS cradles inner sleeve bushings securely in place preventing the cradle from moving in any direction. During testing of the Lockout Kit, BMR documented an 80% to 90% decrease in fore/aft IRS cradle bushing deflection. A bone stock Mustang with no suspension modifications and factory tires will see a 90% or higher reduction in cradle deflection. Where a modified, more race oriented Mustang equipped with stickier performance tires will experience slightly less of a reduction. A BMR test vehicle launched at over 7000 rpm, on drag radial tires, saw about an 80% decrease in bushing deflection. Throughout the entire testing process BMR saw a 95% or higher decrease in vertical deflection under all testing conditions.
Centers IRS Cradle. BMR's IRS Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit not only reduces deflection and wheel hop, but it also centers your Mustangs IRS cradle. Replacing the factory sheer plates, the included cradle braces perfectly centers the IRS cradle under the rear of your Pony. The frame side bolts of the brace locks the cradle securely in place, so that it does not move under any form of spirited driving.
Superior Construction. BMR proudly designs and manufactures their IRS Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit right here in the USA. BMR's Lockout Cradle Braces are made from 1-5/8" diameter, heavy-wall DOM steel tubing for superior strength and extra rigidity. These Lockout Braces are then completed in a durable black hammer-tone powder coated finish for aggressive good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.
No Increase in NVH. BMR's IRS Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit was engineered to drastically reduce bushing and cradle deflection with little, to no change in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness). Seeing that there is no noticeable increase in NVH, this BMR IRS Lockout Kit is perfect for street, auto cross and race applications.
Simple Bolt-On Installation. Installation of the BMR Suspension IRS Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit can be completed in about two hours with just basic hand tools. This BMR IRS Lockout Kit utilizes the existing factory bolt holes, so no cutting, welding or extra modifications are needed. Please note that an alignment, by a qualified shop, is highly recommended after installation.
Application. This Red BMR Suspension IRS Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit is designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade for use on 2015 to 2018 Fastback Mustangs equipped with the factory Independent Rear Suspension (IRS), including the V6, EcoBoost, GT and Shelby GT350 models. Not intended for use on Convertible models.
